AI Connector for Claude and ChatGPT

Last updated: September 17, 2026

The AI Connector lets Claude and ChatGPT work with the data you already have in Insytical. Ask about your campaigns, social posts, sales, deals, projects and invoices in plain language — and, when you allow it, let your assistant draft and schedule Instagram and Facebook posts in Content Studio. It is available on every Insytical plan.

1. What your assistant can do

1.1 Read and explain

  • Marketing and social analytics — ad campaign results across Meta, Google, TikTok and Snapchat, social post performance, best times to post, AI insights and competitor reports.
  • Sales analytics — revenue, orders, products, customers, risk and forecasts from your connected stores.
  • Deals, projects, vendors and expenses — your pipeline and project money, with the same visibility you have in the app.
  • Invoices, goals and reports, and email campaigns, contacts, segments and bookings.
  • Your account — workspace, plan, connected platforms and team.

1.2 Create and schedule posts (with your OK)

When you allow it on the connection screen, your assistant can create, edit, schedule, publish, cancel and delete Instagram and Facebook posts in Content Studio, and attach images or videos from your Insytical media library. Both Claude and ChatGPT ask for your confirmation before anything goes live, and nothing is ever published without an explicit yes.

2. Before you start

  • An Insytical account on any plan. What your assistant can see follows your plan and, for team members, their permissions — exactly as in the app.
  • Claude: custom connectors are available on Free (one connector), Pro, Max, Team and Enterprise. On Team and Enterprise an organisation owner adds the connector first, then each person connects their own Insytical account.
  • ChatGPT: custom connectors need a paid plan (Plus, Pro, Business, Enterprise or Edu) with Developer mode switched on. On Business, Enterprise and Edu an admin has to allow it. Plus and Pro can read your data but cannot create or schedule posts.
  • Posting needs Content Studio on your plan and a Facebook Page or Instagram account connected under Integrations → Marketing platforms.

Your server URL is shown under Integrations → AI assistants inside Insytical, with a one-click copy. For the ordinary Insytical account it is https://backend.insytical.com/mcp.

3. Connecting Claude

  • In Claude (claude.ai or the desktop app), open Settings → Connectors.
  • Click Add custom connector, name it Insytical, paste the server URL above and click Add.
  • Click Connect. A window opens: sign in to Insytical if you are asked to, review what Claude may see, choose whether it may also create and schedule posts, and click Allow.
  • In a chat, turn the Insytical connector on from the tools menu and ask away.

4. Connecting ChatGPT

  • In ChatGPT, open Settings → Connectors → Advanced settings and turn on Developer mode.
  • Back under Connectors, click Create. Name it Insytical, paste the server URL above, keep authentication on OAuth and click Create.
  • Click Connect. Sign in to Insytical if you are asked to, review what ChatGPT may see and click Allow.
  • In a chat, pick Insytical from the tools menu and ask away. ChatGPT shows an approval card before every action that changes something.

5. Things to try

  • Show me my analytics across all platforms for the last 30 days. Which platform grew the most?
  • What were my top 5 Instagram posts this month by engagement rate? Explain why each worked.
  • How are my Meta ads performing this month — spend, impressions, clicks and cost per result?
  • Compare my active campaigns across Meta, Google and TikTok. Where is the best return right now?
  • Write me a weekly report: reach, engagement, top post and three takeaways.
  • Which deals are stuck, and which projects are over budget?
  • Show me everything scheduled for next week. Any gaps?
  • Create five posts for this week across Instagram and Facebook on the theme of productivity tips, and schedule them at my best posting times.
  • Shorten Saturday's Instagram caption and add three hashtags.

Start with a question about your account — your assistant will tell you which areas your workspace can use and whether it is still showing sample data.

6. Permissions and security

  • Connections use OAuth 2.1 with PKCE, the same standard the major platforms use. Your assistant never sees your Insytical password.
  • You decide on the connection screen what it may access. Reading is listed area by area, and creating and scheduling posts is a separate choice you can leave off to connect read-only.
  • Access is limited to the one workspace you connected, and your plan and team permissions apply on every request — an assistant can never see more than you can.
  • Every action an assistant takes is recorded in your workspace. Text written by customers or third parties (a booking note, a scraped competitor page) is handed to your assistant as data to report, never as instructions.
  • Disconnect at any time under Settings → Connected apps; every token that assistant holds stops working immediately. Removing the connector inside Claude or ChatGPT works too.

7. Good to know

  • Publishing is Instagram and Facebook only. Posts for other platforms can be planned on the calendar, but you post them yourself.
  • Instagram needs an image or video from your Insytical media library; Facebook can post text alone. Carousels are not supported yet.
  • Amounts stay in the currency each platform reports and are never converted or added across currencies.
  • Follower counts are not tracked, and competitor information is what your Competitor Analysis feature has already generated.
  • A new workspace shows sample data until you connect a platform. Your assistant labels those numbers as sample so nobody mistakes them for real results.

8. Troubleshooting

  • “This request has expired.” Connection requests last a few minutes. Close the window and start again from your assistant.
  • “This account can’t connect an AI assistant.” Sign in with the Insytical account whose workspace you want to connect — platform administrator accounts have no workspace data to share.
  • ChatGPT shows no posting tools. Creating and scheduling posts needs a ChatGPT Business, Enterprise or Edu plan with write actions allowed by your admin.
  • The assistant says connected but answers with errors. Remove the connector in the assistant and connect again, or disconnect it under Settings → Connected apps first.
